Giving users access to Advanced Search

By default, all users have access to the simple Search in the List area. But, some users require the Advanced Search, which provides more complex search options. You provide access to the Advanced Search using permissions.

To give users access to Advanced Search

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Users and Roles.

  2. In the details pane, select the role that contains the users who require Advanced Search, or create a role in which you can place users who require Advanced Search.

  3. In the navigation pane, expand the Permissions bar.

  4. Switch to the General tab.

  5. Create a new permission. In the For permission list, right-click and select New.

    or

    Select an existing permission to edit.

  6. From the Assign operations from list, select PACS Client.

  7. Select the Searching for studies  > Advanced Search operation.

    The changes are saved automatically when you switch context. All users in the selected role now see the Advanced Search in the List area.

When both the Advanced Search and Simple Search operations are enabled in a permission, only Advanced Search appears in the List area.
