Troubleshooting: Image area is not displaying on multi-monitor system

Issue

On a system with three or more monitors, cycling or opening study images does not work. The Image area never appears.

Details

If monitor cables are plugged into the video cards in an improper order, you can reorder them in the Control Panel > Display Properties. However, if you shift the monitors such that the monitor numbers are not in ascending order, the Image area does not appear. For example, because monitor 3 is listed before monitor 2, the following Windows configuration prevents the Image area from appearing:

Monitor 1 | Monitor 3 | Monitor 2

Solution

1. If required, change the order in which the monitor cables are plugged into the video cards.

2. Open Control Panel.

3. Select Display Properties.

4. Switch to the Settings tab.

5. Set the monitors to be in ascending order, from left to right.
