Configuring study saves

When authenticating with a smart card, impersonation is not available.

To define the types of study changes saved with the Configurable Save tool, use the User Profile tab of the Customize dialog. Note that the changes made here have no effect on the Save tool—you can still use it to select the type of Image area change to save for a particular study.

To configure study saves

  1. If setting preferences for other users, impersonate the user or role.

  2. Press F12 or, from the Image area top toolbar, click Customize.

  3. In the Customize dialog, switch to the User Profile tab.

  4. On the User Profile tab, switch to the Configurable Study Save tab.

  5. Under Configurable Study Save, select the checkboxes of the types of changes to save, and clear the rest.

    Checkbox When selected
Window Level Saves the changes made with the Window Level tools.
Geometry Saves the changes made with the Rotation and Flip tools.
Markup Saves the changes made with the Markup tools.
Tab Stops Saves any tab stops added to images.
Image Rearrange Saves changes made to the order of images in a series.
User Image Calibration Saves any user calibrations.
Magnification/Pan Saves any changes made with the Magnify or Pan tools.
  6. To enable publishing softcopy presentation states by default, select Publish External Presentation.

When publishing a softcopy presentation state, clear all the checkboxes, listed in step 5, if you do not want the changes saved to the base image on the system.

  7. In the Presentation Name field, type a label for the softcopy presentation states images.

You must ensure that the label is no more than 16 characters (valid characters are A-Z, 0-9, space, and underscore). The label will be appended with a date stamp. If the label already exists (such as, when publishing a second or third time from the same study), a versioning number is added at the end of the label text.

Available macros for the default label include:

    • %name% (for example, Peter Lambert)

    • %username% (for example, plambert)

    • %role% (for example, Radiologist)

    • %userdomain% (for example, SR UNIV HOSP)

    • %computername% (for example, RAD_STATION1)

  8. In the Presentation Comments field, type any appropriate comments to use for all softcopy presentation states saved.

  9. To prompt when the user tries to apply a tool while viewing the softcopy presentation state, select Prompt before applying IMPAX Presentation State.

  10. To save the settings and close the dialog, click OK.
