Linking series from different studies

A Cross-study link is a link between series from two or more different studies, so that navigation can be applied to all of the linked series at the same time. It enables these comparisons:

A Cross-study link can link only coplanar series. In addition, IMPAX can Cross-study link only one orientation at a time. For example, if you create a Cross-study link between axial series from two studies, IMPAX does not create a link between sagittal series from the same studies.

Important!

Cross-study linking is intended to facilitate navigation across studies. It does not guarantee that all linked series will be aligned at the same anatomy.

To link series from different studies

  1. If necessary, change the study view mode to display two or more studies.

  2. Navigate to the studies to be linked.

Refer to Accessing all studies and priors for a patient for more information.

  3. Synchronize each series to be linked by scrolling through the images until they correspond to the same anatomical region.

  4. Manually synchronize the series by scrolling through one series in each study until the images correspond to the same anatomical region.

    Note:

    Note:

On MR studies, do not select a localizer series.

If you do not select the series to link, IMPAX selects the first series (starting in the top left of the screen) from the same plane and links it.

  5. From the Image area context or top toolbar, left-click Cross-study Link.

A cross-study link indicator symbol appears on the linked series. All series with the cross-study link indicator can now be navigated at the same time without any further mouse clicks.

The studies remain linked while the Cross-study Link button stays selected. Cross-study linking is disabled and the corresponding cross-study link information is lost when:
