The behavior of the Text area panels determines what is displayed in the Text area when a study is opened.
To determine what to show in the Text area when opening a study
From the Configure drawer menu
, select Preferences.

Or, from the List or Configure area bar, click the User ID menu
and select Preferences.
If in the Configure area, in the navigation pane, select a role or user.
In the details pane, expand the Text Area bar.
Switch to the Behavior tab.
Under Study has a report, select what to show in the Text area when a study that has a report is opened.
If you select the Show Report option, you must specify what the default report type to display is.
If available, display IMPAX report; otherwise, display DICOM SR—Displays the most recent IMPAX report for the study (stored in the IMPAX database) in the Report tab. If the IMPAX report is not available, display the report stored as a DICOM SR (produced by the Connectivity Manager) in the Structured Report tab.
If available, display DICOM SR; otherwise, display IMPAX Report—Displays the most recent report for the study stored as a DICOM SR (produced by the Connectivity Manager) in the Structured Report tab. If the DICOM SR report is not available, displays the IMPAX report (stored in the IMPAX database) in the Report tab.

Under Study does not have a report, select what to show in the Text area when a study that does not have a report is opened.
If Show Scan or Show Q and A has been selected in steps 5 and/or 7, under If no scan or Q and A is available, select what to show in the Text area when a study that does not have a scan or Q and A is opened.
Show Scan is only available for integrated RIS environments. Refer to Text area behavior settings: Reference for explanations of the options in the Behavior tab.
If in the Configure area, the changes are saved automatically when you switch context.

If in the Preferences dialog, click OK.
