Determining when speech synchronization occurs

You can configure the synchronization of your speech profile depending on performance of your day-to-day speech recognition usage.

To determine when speech synchronization occurs

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Preferences.

    or

Or, from the List or Configure area bar, click the User ID menu Configure drawer menu and select Preferences.

  2. If in the Configure area, in the navigation pane, select a role or user.

  3. In the details pane, expand the Text Area bar.

  4. Switch to the Configuration Options tab.

  5. Determine when speech synchronization should occur:

    • Never synchronize speech profile—your speech profile is never synchronized. If no local profile exists or does not match the profile in the IMPAX RIS, synchronization occurs regardless of the settings. When reporting remotely on slower bandwidths, selecting this option may provide benefit such as requiring less time for IMPAX to launch after login.

    • Synchronize profile at login—your speech profile is synchronized each time you log into IMPAX.

    • Synchronize profile once a day—the system synchronizes your speech profile once a day. The timing of the synchronization happens at the first login of the day.

    Note:

    Note:

If a local profile does not exist, the interactive speech component cannot initialize and speech recognition is not possible.

  6. If in the Configure area, the changes are saved automatically when you switch context.

    or

If in the Preferences dialog, click OK.
