IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Reading studies > Viewing study text and priors
Structured (DICOM SR) reports created by the Connectivity Manager appear in the Structured Reports tab of the Text area Report pane. Structured reports provide the following benefits over reports retrieved from a RIS or the MVF database:
A consistent presentation of the information across reports—a local stylesheet controls the presentation of all structured reports.
Ability to prefetch the report—the structured report is considered another object of the study. IMPAX can prefetch all relevant studies and priors (including the structured report) for a patient (especially beneficial for enterprise prefetching).
Available in the Image cache along with the study and not dependent on the Connectivity Manager to access it (beneficial if the enterprise Connectivity Manager is not available—such as, still have access to reports).
