Use the Patient Location Manager to define mappings between study descriptions or procedure codes and locations where a study was performed. Once patient location mappings are defined, it becomes possible to route, prefetch, or search for studies based on these locations.
To create or modify a patient location mapping
On the Setup tab, click Patient Location Manager.![]()
To create a location mapping, click New.

To modify a location mapping, from the list of mappings, select one to edit.
In the Source Pattern field, type the text or text fragment found in the current patient location to create a mapping. The source pattern is case-sensitive and can include one or more % characters as wildcards.
You cannot modify the source pattern of existing patient location mappings.
To handle cases where study descriptions could match more than one source pattern, in the Rule Number field, type a value to prioritize this source pattern.
From the Mapped Location list, select the text identifier to be assigned to studies whose descriptions match the source pattern.
If necessary, add a location value to the list.
To apply this mapping to all subsequent studies, click Save.
