Performing a cold backup of the AS300 Oracle database

With a cold backup, the database has to be shut down. You should therefore back up the database during non-peak hours, as IMPAX cannot be used during a cold backup.

To perform a cold backup of the AS300 Oracle database

Log into the AS300 Database Server as the AgfaService user.
From the C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database directory, copy the PWDMVF.ora and spfileMVF.ora to a different system.
Determine where the data files are located; for example, in E:\data\dbase.
Copy the entire dbase folder to a different system.
