Changing your instant messaging status

Using the instant messaging feature, you can easily connect with colleagues to discuss studies. You can change your instant messaging status to reflect your availability for messaging.

To change your instant messaging status

  1. From the IMPAX menu bar, click the Instant Messaging menu. Instant Messaging menu

  2. Select the appropriate status.

    • Available—indicates that you are available to chat with your colleagues.

    • Emergency only—indicates that colleagues should only contact you to discuss cases in an emergency situation or with a patient in a procedure.

    • Unavailable—indicates that while logged into IMPAX, you are unavailable for discussions at this time. Your name is not displayed on any contact lists.

    The Emergency only status does not prevent other users from contacting you. It is only a communication of your availability.

    IMPAX displays your status change in the Contact list and any Chat dialogs you have open. If changed from Available to Emergency only, the green square changes to a red exclamation mark. If changed to Unavailable, the user disappears from the list.
