Defining the criteria for study access rules

When defining a study access rule, you must define criteria for that rule. For example, you can restrict access to studies generated by a group of stations used by the ER.

To define the criteria for study access rules

  1. Create a study access rule or edit an existing study access rule.

  2. In the Study Access Rule dialog, from the Include only studies that match list, select the criteria and type or select the required values:

    • Confidentiality Code—type codes specified in the RIS to select patients marked for confidentiality.

    • Current Patient Location—where the patient is currently.

    • Department—the name of the department where the study was performed.

    • Institution—the name of the hospital where the study was performed.

    • Modality—the modality type, such as CT, CR, MR, and so on.

    • Patient Location—where the patient was when the study was performed.

    • Referring Physician—the name of the physician that referred the patient. To allow the logged in user to view studies they are the referring physician for, select Current User.

    • Requesting Physician—the name of the physician that requested the study. To allow the logged in user to view studies they are the requesting physician for, select Current User.

    • Station Name—the AE title of the acquiring station.

    • Study Date—the date when the study was performed.

These values are case-sensitive if connecting to an Oracle (AS3000) database.

  3. If required, click the + sign next to the criteria to add the same one again, but with different a value (for an OR condition).

For example, you can set up the study access rule to restrict studies based the modality is not CT or is not CR.

  4. If required, repeat step 2 to select additional criteria.

For example, you can set up the study access rule to restrict studies based on modality is CT and department is Emergency.

  5. Click OK.
