Resetting passwords


When authenticating with a smart card, this feature is not available.

If you are mapping users to an external LDAP system, the IT department in charge of that system must reset the password.

When users forget their passwords, you can reset the passwords in the Configure area - Users and Roles section.

To reset passwords

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Users and Roles.

  2. In the navigation pane, select a user.

  3. In the details pane, under the User bar, switch to the Information tab.

  4. Type a temporary Password.

    All passwords must meet the password policy criteria established by the system administrator.

    The changes are saved automatically when you switch context.

  5. Communicate the temporary password to the user.

    The next time the user logs in, he or she can use this password.
