Enabling JavaScript for running scripts in the Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base relies on JavaScript for Search, the glossary, and other elements. JavaScript is often enabled by default. If not, follow these procedures to enable it in various browsers.

To enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer

  1. In Internet Explorer, select ToolsInternet Options.

  2. In the Internet Options dialog, switch to the Security tab.

  3. Select Trusted sites.

  4. Click Sites.

  5. In the Trusted sites dialog, if connecting to the Application Server using http:// rather than https://, clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone checkbox.

    We recommend that https: be used.

  6. In the Add this Web site to the zone field, type or paste the URL of the Knowledge Base (such as https://app_server_name/documents).

  7. Click Add.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Under Security level for this zone, set the level to Low or Medium Low.

  10. Click Apply. Click OK.

To enable JavaScript in Mozilla Firefox

  1. In Mozilla Firefox, select ToolsOptions.

  2. In the Options dialog, select Content.

  3. Select the Enable Java and Enable JavaScript checkboxes.

  4. Click OK.
