IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Exporting reports and images > Managing print, transmit, and retrieve jobs
When any IMPAX user attempts to print a study to film, transmit a study to another station, prepare a local or remote CD or DVD burn job, or retrieve a study, a job request is logged in the system. All jobs are prioritized according to when the request was made. If required, you can change the priority of a job so that it gets completed faster.
To change job priority
In the List or Configure area, from the Job Monitor menu
,
select Job Manager.
In the Job Manager dialog, from the Job Type list, select the type of job to change the priority of: Print, Transmit, or Retrieve.
To better understand when the jobs will be processed, select Show Jobs for All Users.
To sort the jobs according to current priority, click the Priority column heading.
To raise the priority of one job, select it in the list. To increase the priority of more than one job, use Ctrl + click to select non-consecutive jobs or Shift + click to select consecutive jobs.
Click Decrease Priority.
or
Right-click the selected jobs and select Decrease Priority.
![]() | Tip: The priority buttons are labeled counter-intuitively. To make a job be completed faster, you have to click Decrease Priority. Decrease Priority lowers the status number, for example, from 2 to 1. The lower the number, the faster the job is started. |
To lower the priority of certain jobs, follow steps 5 and 6, but select Increase Priority instead.
When done, to close the dialog, click OK.
