Creating a summary study

Use the Summary Study tool to create one or more independent series containing selected images from one or more studies. After the summary study is created, you can view it to reference only the relevant images from each study. Images included in the multiple study summary contain their original image attributes and study information, so you know which study the images came from. A summary study cannot be dictated.

To create a summary study

  1. From the context or top toolbar, click Summary Study. Summary Study

    If using the context toolbar text menu (Ctrl + right-click), select OrganizationSummary Study.

    If no summary studies already exist, the Add New Study dialog opens. If summary studies exist, the Summary Study dialog opens.

  2. In the Add New Study dialog, type a Name for the summary study and click OK.

    or

    In the Summary Study dialog, click Add. In the Add New Study dialog, type a Name for the summary study and click OK.

  3. In the Summary Study dialog, click OK.

    A floating summary study palette opens.

  4. Navigate through the displayed studies or series and click the images to add to the summary.

    As you click images, they appear in the palette and are “tagged” with the summary study symbol. Summary Study symbol When adding an image from a multiframe series, the entire multiframe series is referenced. If you navigate between studies, you will be prompted to save the summary study.

  5. When all images are added, right-click to finish.

  6. At the prompt to save the summary study, click Yes.

    All images in the summary study are combined as one series.

Tip

Tip:

To remove an image from a summary study, click the image in the floating palette and click Remove.
