When you magnify an image, IMPAX must complete calculations to redraw it. Two methods can be used to complete these calculations: Replication or interpolation.
For a more jagged but more exact magnification, use replication. Replication magnifies the image by replicating each pixel several times to create a larger image.
For a smoother but less exact magnification, use interpolation. Interpolation takes an average value for a set of pixels and fills in the information as it magnifies the image. Interpolation is used by default.
To select replication or interpolation on zoom
To switch to replication,
from the Image area context or top toolbar, click
Replication/Interpolation
Toggle.
or
If using the context toolbar text menu (Ctrl + right-click), select Magnify/Pan > Replication/Interpolation Toggle.
Interpolation is used.
To return to interpolation, select Replication/Interpolation
Toggle
