IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Managing studies using worklists
Worklists are folders that hold the studies radiologists, technologists, and clinicians must work with. Worklists assemble the work for the day instead of requiring you to manually find the patients and studies as you need them.
Grouping studies in worklists
Administrators configure different types of worklists to reflect how a department wants to work. For example:
All CT Head studies can appear in a standard worklist that is assigned to the neuroradiologist.
All studies for patients under a certain age appear in a standard worklist that is assigned to the pediatric specialist.
All MR studies to be reviewed in a conference meeting for residents, which is held every Thursday, can be placed in a scheduled worklist.
The administrator relates the worklists to a department's workflow.

Cycling worklists
A key feature is the ability to cycle through the studies in a worklist during interpretation and sign-off activities.
After cycling, studies are placed in a cycle list, available both in the List area and Image area. The cycle list is a stack of patients and studies for diagnostic review, analogous to film jackets. If cycling an entire worklist, any studies that arrive in the worklist are automatically added to the cycle list. If the studies match a priority grouping rule, they are moved into the rule. If not, they are added to the bottom of the list.
If cycling a worklist, when you finish interpreting a study, IMPAX can be configured to automatically move, cycle, to the next study in the list, or return to the List area. When cycling to the next study, the images for the study open in the Image area and the study information appears in the Text area. You can also cycle forward and backward through the studies in the cycle list by clicking the cycle control arrows in the Image area.
