Troubleshooting: A network or timeout error occurred

Issue

When I try to find a study using search, or perform an Advanced Search, I receive the following error message:

A network or timeout error occurred.

Details

You can receive the network or timeout error message in the search results area, as well as in a worklist or in the Study List in the Text area.

Solution

To correct the problem, try the following:

  1. Expand one of the worklists in the List area to check whether any results are listed. If the error is displayed in the worklist as well, wait a moment and then refresh the worklists. If the error persists, contact your PACS Administrator.

  2. If the worklists are displaying studies, go back to the Search or Advanced Search. A timeout error can occur if the search is too broad, so try narrowing the search criteria and searching again.

  3. If narrowing the search criteria does not solve the problem, retry the search again. If the error persists, contact your PACS Administrator.
