Assigning residents the correct dictation permissions

If using the TalkStation reporting solution, assign radiology residents different dictation operations than radiologists. The operation called Dictate Studies as Resident allows residents to dictate reports, but not to approve them.

To assign residents the correct dictation permissions

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Users and Roles.

  2. In the navigation pane, select the role for radiology residents.

  3. In the details pane, expand the Permissions bar.

  4. Switch to the Study-Based tab.

  5. In the For permission list, right-click and select New.

  6. Type a name for the permission, such as Radiology Residents.

All permissions in IMPAX must have a unique name, even when in different roles.

  7. Select the operations that are allowed with this permission. Ensure that the Dictate Studies as Resident operation is selected.

  8. Create the study access rules from another permission.

The permission is created. The changes are saved automatically when you switch context.
