Setting how breast images are displayed and aligned


When authenticating with a smart card, impersonation is not available.

You can change how IMPAX displays and aligns breast images to reflect how the radiologist who reads mammography studies wants the images displayed.

To set how breast images are displayed and aligned

  1. If setting preferences for other users, impersonate the user or role.

  2. Press F12 or, from the Image area top toolbar, click Customize.

  3. In the Customize dialog, switch to the Comparative Review tab.

  4. Switch to the Settings tab.

  5. Select the Left and Right Breast Comparison:

    • To display MG images with the right breast, nipple pointing left and the left breast, nipple pointing right, select Present with right breast pointing nipple left, and left breast pointing nipple right (Default).

    • To display MG images with the right breast, nipple pointing right and the left breast, nipple pointing left, select Present with right breast pointing nipple right, and left breast pointing nipple left.

  6. Determine how the same breast is compared:

    • To align which way the left and right breasts are facing, select When the same view of a current and a prior is compared do not chest-wall align the images (Default).

    • To align the breast by the chest-wall, select When the same view of a current and a prior is compared chest-wall align the images.

    The following views do not appear chest-wall aligned: extra views (such as spot views), Compare Same CC (Prior Inside), Compare CC (Prior Outside), Compare Same MLO (Prior Inside), Compare MLO (Prior Outside), Compare RCC (current and priors), Compare RMLO (current and priors), Compare LCC (current and priors), and Compare LMLO (current and priors).

  7. To save the changes and close the Customize dialog, click OK.
