Adding voice comments

Before adding voice comments, ensure voice comments are made available and you have a recording device such as a microphone.

Instead of typing in a comment about a study, you can record a voice comment.

Note:

Note:

You cannot use both text and voice comments in the same study comment.

To add voice comments

  1. Display the Text area for the study of interest.

  2. Scroll to the Report panel.

  3. If not visible, switch to the Study Comments tab.

  4. Click Use Voice Comment.

The Use Voice Comment/Use Text option is a persistent setting. Therefore, if voice comments were the previous item created, you do not have to click Use voice comment.

  5. To start recording the voice comment, click Record.

  6. Record the voice comment.

  7. When completed, click Stop.

  8. To make the voice comment private, click Make Private.

A *Private* tag is displayed beside the date. Another way to determine if a voice comment is private or not is if the toggle indicates Make Public, the voice comment is already marked as private.

Private voice comments are available at the role level, not the individual level. The Private Study Comments operation must be enabled for users of the role to see the comments.

  9. Click Save.

    The voice comments are added.

If another user is viewing the same study that you just added the voice comment to, the study comment header inverses color to indicate the change.

    Note:

    Note:

Study comments (including text, voice comments, xml tags, and any additional information such as the date) for a study can contain up to 10,240 characters. If the study comments exceed the character limit, they are truncated.
