Troubleshooting: Knowledge Base table shading not printing

Issue

When I view Knowledge Base topics on-screen, tables appear with alternating row shading, but when I print the table, it appears all white, with no shading to distinguish the rows.

Details

By default, browsers are set to not print background colors. Change this setting to have Knowledge Base tables print with the row shading intact.

Solution

Steps vary depending on which browser you are using.

To enable the printing of background colors in Internet Explorer

  1. Select Tools > Internet Options.

  2. Switch to the Advanced tab.

  3. Scroll down the list until you see the Printing options.

  4. Select the Print background colors and images checkbox. Click OK.

To enable the printing of background colors in Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select File > Page Setup.

  2. Under Options, select the Print Background (colors & images) checkbox. Click OK.
