IIS logging is enabled by default, and the default path for the log files is on the C:\ drive. Over time, the drive becomes full, which creates a serious downtime risk on the server. To prevent this situation, disable IIS logging.

To disable IIS logging on a Windows 2003 Application Server
Right-click My Computer and select Manage.
In the Computer Management window, navigate to Services and Applications > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager > Web Sites > Default Web Site.
Right-click Default Web Site and select Properties.
In the Default Web Site Properties dialog, clear the Enable logging checkbox.
Click OK.
IIS logging is disabled.
