IIS logging is enabled by default in Windows 2008, and the default path for the log files is on the C:\ drive. Over time, the drive becomes full, which creates a serious downtime risk on the server. To prevent this, disable IIS logging.

To disable IIS logging on a Windows 2008 server
Select Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Server Manager.
Expand Roles > Web Server (IIS).
Select Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
Under Connections, expand Sites.
Select Default Web Site.
In the pane to the right of Connections, under Default Website Home, scroll down to the IIS section and double-click Logging.
In the Actions pane, select Disable.
IIS logging is disabled.
