Creating or modifying a body part mapping

Use the Body Part Manager to define mappings between study descriptions or procedure codes and body part identifiers. Once body part mappings are defined, it becomes possible to route, prefetch, or search for studies based on these body parts.

Note:

Note:

In multiple IMPAX cluster configurations, if the site wants to prefetch and route based on the Body Part mappings, the Body Part mapping tables must be a superset of the cluster, containing all the codes for the sites.

To create or modify a body part mapping

  1. On the Setup tab, click Body Part Manager.Body Part Manager

  2. To create a body part mapping, click New. New

    or

To modify a body part mapping, from the list of mappings, select one mapping to edit.

  3. In the Source Pattern field, type the text or text fragment found in the study description to base the mapping on. The source pattern is case-sensitive and can include one or more % characters as wildcards.

You cannot modify the source pattern of existing body part mappings.

  4. To handle cases where study descriptions could match more than one source pattern, in the Rule Number field, type a value to prioritize this source pattern. Generally, more specific patterns should have lower numbers (which gives the rule a higher priority) than general source patterns.

  5. From the Body Part list, select the text identifier to be assigned to studies whose descriptions match the source pattern.

If necessary, add a body part identifier to the list.

  6. To apply this mapping to all subsequent studies, click Save. Save

  7. To apply the mapping to existing studies, click Update.Update

Applying mappings to existing studies may take a long time to complete.
