Setting the logging level for system logs

Use the Logs menu to select a log to view. The Logs menu lists the local log and all remote logs. You can set the logging level for the local log.

To set the logging level for system logs

  1. In Administration Tools, select Logs > Local.

  2. Select Filter > Change Local Log Level.

  3. Select the log level to use:

    FilterDescription
    DEBUG level loggingSet the logging level to Debug and display items beginning with the letter D. Recommended only when troubleshooting. Creates very detailed log files.
    INFO level loggingSet the logging level to Information and display items beginning with the letter I. Records only information log messages.
    ERROR level loggingSet the logging level to Error and display items beginning with the letter E. Records error and information log messages.
    AUDIT level loggingSet the logging level to Audit and display items beginning with the letter A. Records audit log messages.
    Turn on service logging in programActivate logging on the local machine.
