Configuring the Agfa PS5000

The PS5000 is the print and post-processing station for the Agfa Diagnostic Center (ADC). Within a PACS, the ADC/PS5000 is a modality that transmits CR images to the Network Gateway.

To configure the Agfa PS5000

  1. In IMPAX, make an entry for the PS5000 in the etc/inet/hosts file on the Network Gateway.

  2. In the Network Manager of the Administration Tools, enter the appropriate AE title, host name, alias, and port 104. Set the PS5000 as queryable but not as a destination.

The AE_Title PS5000 is hard coded and is not configurable on the PS5000.

    Note:

    Note:

If you have multiple PS5000s, you cannot enter the same AE title in the DICOM Network form on IMPAX. Therefore, use alias AE Titles such as PS5000_1, PS5000_2, and so on.

  3. After you make the entries in the DICOM Network form, switch to the Storage Permissions form. For each PS5000, set the Calling title to Any.

This allows IMPAX to make DICOM associations based on IP host names, which should be unique for each PS5000.

  4. On the PS5000, make the required IP and DICOM entries for the Network Gateway.

  5. Create a DICOM profile for IMPAX.

The PS5000 uses a service tool called CCM (Custom Configuration Manager) to create DICOM profiles for devices with which it communicates. For details on using the CCM tool, refer to the PS5000 service and application documents.
