Create an entry in the Administration Tools for all acquisition stations that send images to the system. Configure the Institution name and Department such that stations with the same name in different hospitals can be differentiated.
When IMPAX receives a study from a station, the list of acquisition stations maintained in Source Manager is consulted. If the list already contains the name of that station, the received study is associated with that station’s department and institution values.
But if no matching record is found, that station is automatically added to the system. It inherits the department and institution values associated with the DEFAULT station. You can then modify these values as appropriate.
To create or modify an entry for an acquisition station
On the Setup tab, click Source Manager.
To create a new entry, click New.
or
To modify an existing entry, select it in the list.
CAUTION!
Use extreme caution before changing any settings for the DEFAULT station, as they affect any new acquisition stations added after the change. Instead, select the new station and alter its settings.
For a new entry, in the Station Name field, type the AE title of the acquisition station.
For existing entries, you cannot modify the Station Name value.
In the Description field, type an alias or description for the station.
From the Institution list, type or select the institution name associated with this station.
The Institution list references DICOM field (0x0008, 0x0080) VR(LO) institution_name.
From the Department list, type or select the department the modality is located in.
The Department list references DICOM field (0x0008, 0x1040) VR(LO) institutional_department _name.
Note:
When existing studies are associated with a station and the department information for that station changes, the study information is updated to include the new department information.
Click Save.
The entry is created or modified.
