Instead of having a local archiving solution, studies can be archived to a data center.
A data center typically provides storage and retrieval of study data for a collection of hospital groups, each with a local PACS infrastructure. The relationship between the data center and the connected sites is characterized as a hub-and-spoke model.
To configure data center archiving in IMPAX, use PACS Store and Remember, using the data center AE title as the external PACS archive.
Studies are transmitted to a data center for permanent storage only after a configurable time period has passed and the studies have met the predefined criteria for storage. Possible criteria include:
HIS verification status
![]() | Note: Within multiple IMPAX cluster environments, studies should not be sent to the data center until they have been HIS verified. |
Report status (such as Any, New, Dictated, Reported, or Approved)
Study age
Archive window, the specific period of time within the day during which archive jobs should be processed.
