Defining secondary roles for a user

By adding users to a secondary role, you can create cross-functional teams, such as an ICU Team. When adding a user to a secondary role, the permissions and licensing from this secondary role are also inherited by the user. This gives the user access to the study data available from that secondary role. Preferences, however, are not inherited from a secondary role. A user has only one set of preferences, which come from the user's primary role.

To define a secondary role for a user

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Users and Roles.

  2. In the navigation pane, select a user to add to a secondary role.

  3. Right-click the role to use as a secondary role.

  4. Select Add <username>. (Do not select Add Users.)

Where <username> is the name of the user you selected in step 2.

The user is added to the selected role and appears in italic in this secondary role.
