Defining memory usage

You can change the percentage of physical memory that IMPAX Client should leave available for the rest of the system when running.

To define memory usage

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Stations.

    or

Or, from the List area bar, click the User ID menu Configure drawer menu and select Station Configuration.

  2. If in the Configure area, in the navigation pane, select a single station or station container to change all stations within that container.

  3. Expand the General bar.

  4. Switch to the Memory tab.

  5. Select the IMPAX Memory Usage value by dragging the slider left or right.

With a conservative setting, IMPAX uses less of the workstation memory and leaves more for other applications. We recommend this setting for workstations running more than one clinical application. With an aggressive setting, IMPAX uses more of the workstation memory and leaves less for other applications, which may reduce the overall performance if the stations is running more than one clinical application.

  6. If in the Configure area, the changes are saved automatically when you switch context.

    or

Or, if in the Station configure dialog, click OK.

Tip

Tip:

For stations with higher RAM, increasing to a more aggressive setting may improve Client performance.
