You can use the At-a-Glance area in the List area to communicate information, such as pending system upgrades, to users. You can set up multiple messages and make them available to different roles or users. Each message assigned to a user appears as a bulleted list item in his or her At-a-Glance area.
To add an At-a-Glance message
If the At-a-Glance area is not currently displayed, in the List area, click the Date menu.
In the At-a-Glance area, click Edit.If you do not see the Edit button, you do not have permission to add or edit messages.
In the Edit Message dialog, click New.
In the New Message field, type the label of the message to add. Click OK.
This label is for identification only. It is not displayed as part of the message.
Optionally, from the font name and size lists, select the typeface to use for this message.
Tahoma 10 point is used by default.
In the Type/Edit Message field, type the message text. As appropriate, you can:
Select text and format it with Bold, Italic, or Underline.
Insert hyperlinks to websites or network files.
Under Users and Roles, select the checkboxes of the users or roles who should see this message. If you select a role, all the users in that role are automatically selected.
Tip:
To help you find a particular user or role in a large hierarchy, type the name (all or part) in the field underneath the hierarchy and click Search. The results are listed under Name and Email. In the results, double-click the user or role of interest. It will be highlighted in the hierarchy.
Click Apply.
To add another message, repeat steps 3–8.
To close the dialog, click OK.
When the selected users next log in, the messages will appear in their At-a-Glance area. The messages stay until they are deleted or unassigned.
