Editing an At-a-Glance message

You can use the At-a-Glance area in the List area to communicate information, such as pending system upgrades, to users. After At-a-Glance messages are created, you can modify their contents or assign them to different users or roles. Each message assigned to a user appears as a bulleted list item in his or her At-a-Glance area.

To edit an At-a-Glance message

  1. If the At-a-Glance area is not currently displayed, in the List area, click the Date menu. v In the At-a-Glance area, click Edit.

    If you do not see the Edit button, you do not have permission to add or edit messages.

  2. In the Edit Message dialog, from the Active Messages list, select the message to edit.

  3. In the Type/Edit Message field, change the message text as required.

  4. Under Users and Roles, select the checkboxes of the users or roles who should see this message, and clear the rest. If you select a role, all the users in that role are automatically selected.

  5. Click Apply.

  6. To edit another message, repeat steps 3–6.

  7. To close the dialog, click OK.

    When the selected users next log in, the updated messages will appear in their At-a-Glance area. The messages remain until they are deleted or unassigned.
