Teaching files are anonymous versions of images from original studies. Radiology departments can use teaching files to organize studies for special purposes:
Attending radiologists can use teaching files to document a specific pathology for teaching residents
Technologists can use teaching files to document examples of poorly acquired images
Researchers can use teaching files to document cases for clinical trials
Teaching files are open to all members of a department, as configured by the PACS Administrator, unless specifically kept private.
