ROI refers to Region of Interest. Use the Auto Window Level on Selected ROI tool to obtain optimum window level values within a selected region of the image and apply these values to the entire image, changing its brightness and contrast. This tool cannot be applied to color images.

To window level based on image region
From the Image area top toolbar, Window Level button menu, select Auto
Window Level on Selected ROI.
The pointer has a rectangle shape attached to it.
(If this type of window leveling cannot be applied because the image
contains color, an icon appears beside the pointer.
)
To enlarge or reduce the rectangle before you place it, move the scroll wheel on the mouse.
Place the rectangle over the region of the image to capture window level values from, and click.
The window level values are captured, calculated, and applied to the entire image.
