Issue
When I try to find a study using search, or perform an Advanced Search, no results are returned, even though I know studies exists that match my search criteria.
Details
After defining the search criteria and clicking the Search button, the following message is displayed in the search results area:
No items matching your search criteria were found.
![]() | Note: You can also receive many search results, but not the study that you require, because if more than 500 studies are found, only the most recent studies are displayed. Try the tips listed in the Solution section to narrow the search. |
Solution
Check the following items before performing another search:
Recheck the search criteria you defined to ensure that the values you entered are correct.
Unconstrained searches are not allowed because they slow down performance. If you are searching by a date criteria and select any, you must also select another criteria to search on. For example:
In Advanced Search, the Study Date and Patient Birth Date criteria must be paired with another search criteria if they are set to any.
In the simple Search, if the search is set to Any Date, one of the other available search fields must contain a value for the search to return results.
Make the values in the search criteria less specific. For example, if you are searching for a patient by name, try entering fewer characters of the name to search on. You can also try using wildcard characters to search; for example, try *smith to find all patients with names containing Smith.
