When using an integrated speech application such as TalkStation, Start and Complete dictation are two important and distinct steps. The Dictate button moves to In Progress state on the first click (when dictation begins) and to Dictated state on the second click (when the report has been completed).
If using an analog (tape) dictation solution, however, it is generally preferable to indicate that dictation has been completed in a single click. The In Progress state may be tracked through paper requisition forms, and IMPAX is used only to indicate that the dictation has been completed.
To configure single-click dictation
From the Configure drawer menu
, select Preferences.In the navigation pane, select the user or role to configure.
Select a user or role with permission to dictate.
In the details pane, expand the Text Area bar.
Switch to the Reporting tab.
Select Analog.
Select the Use a single click to dictate the study checkbox.
Single-click dictation is enabled. The changes are saved automatically when you switch context.
