Synchronizing TalkStation and IMPAX

Although TalkStation and IMPAX can be integrated, they are not always synchronized with each other. For example, if you change to a different report in TalkStation, IMPAX does not automatically display the related study images. Similarly, if you have to switch to another patient's studies in IMPAX before completing a TalkStation report, TalkStation saves and closes the current report, but does not automatically load the accession number of the new patient.

When IMPAX and TalkStation are synchronized with one another, a Talk indicator appears on the Dictate Study button. You can synchronize displayed IMPAX studies and TalkStation reports at any time.

To synchronize from IMPAX to TalkStation

  1. In the Image area, view the study whose report you would like to view or dictate in TalkStation.

  2. Right-click Dictate Study. Dictate Study

Depending on study status, the Dictate Study button may resemble Approved study or Transcribed study.

  3. From the menu, select Sync Into Dictation System.

The Dictate Study button changes to include a Talk indicator: Dictate study - TalkStation, TalkStation report approved, or TalkStation report transcribed. The TalkStation window displays the report for the displayed study or prepares to create a report for this study.

Alternatively, you can view the studies for a report or order you are viewing in TalkStation.

To synchronize from TalkStation to IMPAX

  1. In TalkStation, view the report whose images you want to display.

  2. In the IMPAX Image area top toolbar, right-click Dictate Study. Dictate Study

  3. From the menu, select Sync From Dictation System.

As long as the study images are available in IMPAX, they are loaded into the Image area. (Otherwise, the Image area displays the "No images available" message.) The Dictate Study button changes to include a Talk indicator.
