IMPAX 6.5.1 Client Knowledge Base: Extended > Dictating and reviewing reports > Dictating reports with IMPAX Reporting > Dictating reports with IMPAX Reporting
You can stop the dictation and temporarily save it if required. Suspending a dictation leaves the study status as Dictation started or Trainee dictation started if the author is a resident.
You can manually suspend a dictation. But, when switching patients, closing patients, or logging out, you are automatically asked if you want to suspend the dictation. If you choose not to suspend the dictation, you return to the active patient. But, if IMPAX logs out automatically, and you choose not to suspend the dictation, the dictation is cancelled and study status resets to New.
