Selecting IMPAX Reporting as the editing and sign-off mechanism for reports created by third-party systems

A third-party dictation system can be used for the creation of reports and IMPAX Reporting can be used for editing and sign-off of the reports on the IMPAX Client.

To select IMPAX Reporting as the editing and sign-off mechanism for reports created by third-party systems

  1. From the Configure drawer menu Configure drawer menu, select Preferences.

    Or, from the List or Configure area bar, click the User ID menu Configure drawer menu and select Preferences.

  2. If in the Configure area, in the navigation pane, select a role or user.

  3. In the details pane, expand the Text area bar.

  4. On the Reporting tab, select IMPAX RIS.

  5. In the Database field, type the name of the RIS database.

    The changes are saved automatically when you switch context.

  6. To use a third-party dictation system and IMPAX Reporting as the report editing and sign-off mechanism, select Create reports/dictation with another dictation system.

    When reporting is complete, the recordings are sent to a transcriptionist who transcribes and saves the transcriptions in the IMPAX RIS. The transcribed reports are displayed in the radiologist's sign-off worklists and can be validated using IMPAX Reporting.

  7. Specify the third-party dictation system:

    • Analog—Select to use a separate digital recorder or analog cassette.

    • Serial Dictation System—Select to use a third-party dictation system such as Lanier.

  8. If the Analog option is selected, to use a single-click to dictate a study, select Use a single click to dictate the study.

  9. If in the Configure area, the changes are saved automatically when you switch context.
