Creating personal standard text

Standard texts are ways to record some typical functions for reports and addenda. Using standard texts, you can quickly add the information to the report or addendum instead of typing or dictating it. Using personal standard texts, you can add additional functions to meet your reporting needs.

Note:

Note:

Shared standard text is defined in QManager and depends on the performing department of the study. Personal standard text does not depend on the performing department and is always available.

To create personal standard text

  1. If the Standard Text catalog is not displayed, click Show Standard Texts.

  2. Select the folder that you want to create the new standard text in.

  3. Click New Standard Text. New Standard Text

  4. In the Standard Text dialog, in the code field, type a code.

Spaces are not allowed in the code.

  5. In the Name field, type the name of the standard text.

The name is displayed as a tooltip in the Standard Text catalog.

    Note:

    Note:

If the code for the shared standard text is the same as the personal standard text, the personal standard text code is fetched.

  6. In the Voice command field, type the command.

The INSERT prefix and MACRO suffix can be modified if required in QManager.

  7. To assist with the voice command type the phonetic entry or to have IMPAX generate the phonetic entry, click Generate.

A phonetic representation/transcription of the command is displayed.

  8. Type or dictate the standard text.

A useful image can also be inserted.

  9. Apply the appropriate formatting to the text.

  10. If defined, select a navigation field and click Insert field.

Navigation fields act as placeholders in the document template and are created in QManager. Also known as jump-points or fill-in fields, navigation fields speed the process of moving from one of the report to the next area without scrolling. For example, if you want to quickly navigate from the Findings section to the Conclusion section, the focus of the dictation is transferred to the named navigation field once it is spoken.

  11. Click OK.
