Removing an Application Server from rotation: NetScaler

If an Application Server requires maintenance or needs to be upgraded, you can remove it from rotation without causing any interruptions to users.

To remove an Application Server from rotation

  1. In the Citrix NetScaler window, from the list of Services, double-click the Application Server service you want to disable.

  2. In the Configure Service window, click Disable.

  3. In the Wait Time dialog, type the amount of time you want to wait before disabling the service.

We recommend waiting 120 seconds. This time allows new requests not to be routed to that Application Server so users are not interrupted.

  4. Click Enter.

After the specified wait time, the Application Server service is disabled and removed from rotation.
