Create the scheduled backup job to run at set intervals and back up the selected data. The backups can be saved to tape, CD or DVD, or a network location.
To create a scheduled backup job
From the Start menu, select All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Backup.
If the Backup or Restore Wizard is displayed, clear the Always start in Wizard mode checkbox, and click Advanced Mode.
From the Tools menu, select Options.
In the Options dialog, switch to the Exclude Files tab.
Highlight the two ADAM files (adamntds.dit and edb*.log) in the list and click Remove.
Click OK.
If required, switch to the Welcome tab.
In the Welcome dialog, click Backup Wizard.
In the Backup Wizard dialog, click Next.
In the What to Backup dialog, select Backup selected files, drives, or network data and click Next.
In the Items to Backup dialog, select the folder containing the ADAM data.
The default location for the ADAM database is C:\Program Files\Microsoft ADAM\AgfaHealthcare.
Select the folder containing the web services configuration.
The default location for web services is E:\Inetpub\wwwroot.
If backing up to a tape drive, in the Backup Type, Destination and Name dialog, under Backup media type select the tape drive, and in the backup media area, click New media. Click Next.

If backing up to any other media type, in the Backup Type, Destination and Name dialog, select the location where the backup is to be saved, and type a name for the backup. Click Next.
In the Completing the Backup Wizard dialog, click Advanced.
In the Type of Backup dialog , select Normal and click Next.
In the How to Backup dialog, select Verify data after backup and Use hardware compression if available and click Next.
In the Backup Options dialog, select Replace the existing backups and click Next.
In the When to backup dialog, select Later.
Type a name for the job, and click Set a Schedule.
In the Schedule Job dialog, for the Schedule Task frequency, select Daily and select an appropriate time for the backup job to run.
To save the Schedule Job settings, click OK.
In the Set Account Information dialog, type the user name and password for the job and click OK.
Click Next.
In the Set Account Information dialog, type the user name and password for the job and click OK.
Click Finish.
