IMPAX 6.5.1 Server Knowledge Base home > Configuring IMPAX Server with Administration Tools > Relevant Prior Manager
Autofetching is the automatic retrieval of relevant priors based on the arrival of the first image of an unexpected study. An unexpected study is one that is not scheduled. Autofetching is particularly useful for emergency studies.
No special configuration is required to support autofetching. As long as relevant prior rules are set in Administration Tools, they will apply automatically to unexpected studies upon arrival of the first image.
Connectivity Manager support
The system supports prefetching and autofetching without a Connectivity Manager. However, without a Connectivity Manager, the flexibility of what you can fetch is limited. For example, you may only be able to fetch a CT Head study, rather than a study with more specific information filled in by the Connectivity Manager.
