The Network Gateway that accepts images from the modality performs the auto-routing for that modality. IMPAX allows you to balance the routing loads by assigning which Network Gateway the modality should route images to.
Generally, the modality service engineer is responsible for making the necessary DICOM entries for the Network Gateway on the equipment.
After you can ping the modality, enter its DICOM AE_title, hostname, alias, and port number in the Network Manager of the Administration Tools. The default DICOM port number is 104. You must enter a unique hostname that matches the entry in the /etc/hosts file or IMPAX rejects the entry.
A properly configured Network Gateway supports up to eight simultaneous DICOM associations. Keep this in mind as you balance the network load among your Network Gateway.
