Simplification options for images sent to a station

The following options are available when enabling simplification in Network Management.

Option Description
Maximum Width field Sets the maximum width of the image. If the image is narrower than the maximum, it retains its original width. The default value is 2048.
Maximum Height field Sets the maximum height of the image. If the image is shorter than the maximum, it retains its original width. The default value is 2048.
Convert to 8 Bit checkbox When selected, converts all images to 8-bit format. Use when sending video images to a system with limited capabilities.
Convert to Monochrome checkbox When selected, converts all color images to monochrome before they are sent to the station. Use for stations with grayscale monitors.
Apply Window Level checkbox When selected, applies a preset window level value. If a user has saved window level values with the study, that value is used. If not, the value generated by the modality is used. Otherwise, the window level values preset in the header file are used.
Burn demographics checkbox When selected, includes demographics as part of the study images. Users at a review station can no longer hide demographics if this option is selected.
Force RGB to Pixel Interleave checkbox RGB pixel data can be either pixel interleaved or planar interleaved. If this checkbox is cleared, planar interleaving is used (r1 r2 r3...g1 g2 g3...b1 b2 b3). When selected, each color pixel is simplified (r1 g1 b1 r2 g2 b2 r3 g3 b3).
Auto Rotate CT checkbox Use when CT images must be rotated.
Convert to Video Data checkbox Use only for devices that cannot handle optical density (OD) data. Some information is lost in this conversion and you cannot easily get the OD data back.
