IMPAX is an imaging system that eliminates the need for film because it receives, distributes, archives, and displays digital images. IMPAX automates the flow of information to integrate various hospital departments with the rest of the hospital. IMPAX can also integrate remote locations such as clinics or home offices to the system for offsite viewing of images.
IMPAX provides the following benefits:
Simultaneous availability of imaging studies and reports anywhere within the IMPAX system.
Automation of sorting and filing functions through electronic archiving.
Reduction or elimination of the costs associated with the use of conventional film.
Previous exams and reports can be quickly retrieved for online comparison review.
Ability to market high quality sub-specialty reading to imaging centers and clinics outside the main health care facility.
Physical proximity of the radiologist and clinician is no longer necessary.
Annotation of images and the ability to create a small summary series during formal interpretation by the physician. The summary series can be read by the referring physician so that he may easily view the most relevant images.
Configurable multi-level security with privilege level access to viewing, printing, transmitting, and editing of images and reports.
Flexible and easy-to-use control for reading exams, accessing reports, setting up user accounts and profiles, and managing system activity.
