The Database Server controls the entire IMPAX cluster. Its key activities include:
Storing the central database used by all components in the cluster
Maintaining a record of all database transactions in transaction log files
Monitoring system activity levels and predicting the amount of database tablespace needed in the future
The database manages and shares information related to study attributes, system configuration, study markup, and annotation of studies. It collects, organizes, and manages all patient and study demographic data that is contained in DICOM header files.
The IMPAX Database Server can run on Oracle for Windows, SQL Server for Windows, or Oracle for Solaris.
