When a database failure, hardware failure, or software upgrade occurs, you must restore the database to the point where it stopped. Before you restore the database, consider the following:
Do a transaction log backup to make sure that you can recover the database to the point where it stopped.
If you must restore the master database, ensure that you start the service as a single user mode.
If you do not have a good master database backup and must recover the master database, you must detach and reattach the user database, then add the user information again.
