To increase the speed of the Administration Tools when accessing them remotely, configure the system to download and run the required jar files locally. As the Administration Tools are used, the jar files for those parts are downloaded to your local drive. The next time the Administration Tools are started, the local parts are used, which is faster.
![]() | Note: You must know the server name or IP address of the server where the Administration Tools are installed (e.g. pacsserver or 123.456.7.89). |
To improve Administration Tools speed by running JAR files locally
Open Control Panel.
Select Java.
Switch to the Java tab.
Under Java Applet Runtime Settings, click View.
In the Java Runtime Setting dialog, in the Java Runtime Parameters field, type
-DclassProxy=http://server_name_or_IP_address
Click OK.
To close the Java Control Panel dialog, click OK.
Close Control Panel.
The next time you log into the Administration Tools, startup files are downloaded to your computer and stored in a directory called jarServer (usually on the C: drive). Each time you access a manager, another jar file is downloaded.
The next time you run the Administration Tools through a web browser on the same machine, the managers you have already used load more quickly.
![]() | Tip: The Administration Tools keep a version list on the server and on the client. If you launch the Administration Tools through a web browser from a different server that has a different version and also uses the jar server, then those jar files (if different) are also downloaded to the client. You can browse to different servers, download the jar files, and have multiple versions of the Administration Tools on the same machine. |
